Four students of the Ho Nursing Training College and a driver perished when the bus on which they were travelling, crashed near Aburi in the Eastern Region.
Two of the students died on the spot while the other two died later at the hospital. Myjoyonline.com cannot independently verify the death toll.
Scores of the injured students are said to be receiving treatment at the hospital.
Joy News correspondent Hubert Mawuli Agbi reports, the crash occured when the students were returning from a field trip to Mampong on Friday.
The cause of the accident was not immediately known but Mawuli said, residents attribute it to poor visibility due to heavy rains experienced in the area that day coupled with speeding on the part of the driver, were to blame.
