Asamoah Gyan has had his first injury scare of the season with Stade Rennes unsure he will be available for their meeting against Lille on Saturday.
The Ghanaian forward has four League goals to his name already this season but may not be available for the French outfit after a muscular strain forced him out of Ghana’s World Cup qualifying loss to Benin with a quarter of the game remaining.
Gyan has had major battles with injury and has repeatedly said in interviews this year that his biggest fear is for his season to be knocked off by injury.
“I am back in form but every day I pray I don’t pick an injury that I don’t have to sit out for long,” he told KickOffGhana.com before the team departed for Cotonou.
He will be hoping now that the last setback is a really short one.
