Football authorities here in England have given the green light to Craven Cottage as venue for the Ghana versus Mexico international friendly on March 26.
Speaking exclusively to myghanafootball.com, the CEO of Division Network, Dennis Tawiah explained that there were other venues being considered but added a few issues had to be resolved.
The two teams and the organisers of game needed to clarify those issues by before the English Football Association could approve a venue that would provide the best atmosphere for the teams.
"We had to make sure that all parties were fully satisfied with conditions and more importantly the venue, before we go full swing with the promotional aspect of the match", he said.
The encounter would be the first time the African Nation´s Cup bronze medalist are playing a competitive match since the Ghana 2008 tournament.
The match would also test Africa´s top FIFA-placed team as to whether they deserve their position.
They come against seasoned campaigners Mexico.
The Black Stars of Ghana may have been disappointed after failing to lift their fifth African title, but as the number 14 best team on the FIFA /Coca-Cola rankings, the match should provide enough motivation for victory to safeguard their position.
The March 26 friendly game against Mexico will be only the second time both teams would be clashing at the senior level.
The first encounter coincidentally was also played in March 2006, which the Mexicans won 1-0.
Ghana will use the warm up game as a preparatory match to kick off their World Cup qualifying campaign in June.
Meanwhile the Mexican Football Federation has confirmed that Carlos Vela will feature against thenGhanaian side in London.
The talented striker who can also play as a winger is currently on loan at Osasuna in Spain from English giants Arsenal.
He is widely regarded as a star of the future with his electric pace and striking abilities.
Vela and his Mexican team mates will travel from Pamplona to London on March 23 to team up with the rest of Coach Hugo Sanchez’s selection.
Myghanafootball.com has learnt that the Mexicans will then have a short training camp near Motspur Park in Fulham.
