The first female Commanding Officer of the Transportation Battalion Unit of the Ghana Armed Forces, Lt Col Justina Frimpong has donated 100 mono desks to her alma mater, Ghana Senior High School (GHANAS).
This was after a short ceremony on the school’s premises at Koforidua in the Eastern Region.
The donation was in response to an appeal made to Lt Col Justina Frimpong by the school authorities concerning furniture deficient in the school.

The appeal was made when the officer paid a courtesy call to the school during the 67th Independence Day Anniversary celebration held in Koforidua.
In a short address, Lt Col Frimpong who is also a native of Oyoko in the New Juaben municipality said she was touched by the situation when she visited the school and decided to come to their aid.
She said, she owes the school more than what she has given, and further promised to contact her year group (1999) to assist the school in any way they can.

The headmistress, Diana Akosua Mintah who received the donation on behalf of the school management, expressed appreciation and thanked Lt Col Justina Frimpong for the kind gesture.
She said the donation would go a long way to help reduce the furniture deficit in the school.
She used the opportunity to make a passionate appeal to other stakeholders, philanthropists, NGOs and especially Lt Col Frimpong's 1999 year group to help the school renovate its assembly hall roofing, girls dormitory and washrooms.
