In a few days, the Western Region will be witnessing the region’s biggest Made-In-Ghana fair with the announcement of “Western Weekend Market” by the Management of Ghana’s leading Policy and Development Bank, Ghana Export – Import Bank (GEXIM)
“Western Weekend Market” is a special edition of the Bank’s popular Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Fair dubbed Tuesday Market, which provides a platform for Ghanaian entrepreneurs to showcase various top-quality Made-In-Ghana products.
The three day “Western Weekend Fair” is scheduled to take place from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th May 2024 at the Takoradi Mall, from 8am to 10pm daily. Currently, over hundred Ghanaian entrepreneurs with unique products have been confirmed to participate in the fair.
Some of the very unique, and authentic products expected to be exhibited at the fair at unbeatable prices include food and ingredients, beverages, skin and beauty care products, textiles, apparel, garments, leather footwear, slippers, and many others.
GEXIM’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer responsible for Banking, Rosemary Beryl Archer revealed the rationale for the “Western Weekend Market”. She stated that “Tuesday Market is a platform that presents equal opportunities to entrepreneurs from the sixteen regions. In previous editions held in Accra, we had entrepreneurs and products from other regions featured to ensure all entrepreneurs irrespective of their location benefited from the initiative. The Western Weekend Market is a special edition for entrepreneurs in the Western region and its neighboring regions. We have confirmed some entrepreneurs from the central region and its environs who will also be participating in the fair”.
She further stated that the “Western Weekend Market” will be running for three days following feedback from previous editions of Tuesday Markets. “In recent times, we have had calls from the vendors and the general public to increase the number of days for the fair following the very successful Eid Mart which was held over two days. We have decided to introduce the three day Weekend Markets in the various regions with the Western Weekend Market being the first”, she added.
Multiple award winning Ghanaian musician, Kofi Kinaata, is confirmed as a Special Guest.
