The Ghana League Clubs Association, GHALCA says it is yet to take a decision on which two Ghanaian clubs that will participate in this year’s President Cup.This situation will therefore question Kotoko's decision to withdraw from the July 1 competition-which will feature two local and foreign clubs each.Officials of Kotoko on Sunday officially withdrew their participation in a bid to register their protest against GHALCA for being ''unsupportive'' after they were handed temporary home venue bans. However, vice president of the GHALCA Isaac Koomson says "GHALCA has not officially received any letter from Kotoko stating their decision to withdraw from the President’s Cup."But even if Kotoko have said that, we have not taken any decision yet on which two local clubs will be playing in the competition."Berekum Chelsea beat Asante Kotoko 2-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium to lift last's year's trophy.GHALCA has also revealed the format for the selection of the two clubs that will play in the Cup match which be used to commemorate Ghana's Republic Day.According Isaac Koomson: "What GHALCA has done is that we have brought two foreign clubs and on Thursday May 23, we will launch a text code for all the sixteen premier league clubs to select which two teams they would want to see participate in the President’s Cup against the two foreign clubs we are bringing."
