The sixth Entreprenuers Foundation of Ghana (EFG) and Entrepreneur’s Business Support Awards Dinner comes on Friday, April 29, 2016.
It is under the theme ‘The role of Entrepreneurship in Economic Growth and Private Sector Development.’
The event, which is an initiative of the EFG, is being organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
The ceremony will see six Ghanaian entrepreneurs inducted into the prestigious “Ghana Entrepreneur Awards Hall of Fame”. Twenty other entrepreneurs will be awarded in categories such as Overall best Entrepreneur of the year 2015, Lifetime Entrepreneur Achievement, Group CEO of the Year, Woman Entrepreneur and Young Entrepreneur.
Other categories include: Outstanding Entrepreneur in Banking and Finance, Electricals and Electronics, Health and Herbal industry, General Merchants, Food and Beverages, Electronic Commerce, Information Technology, Event Management, Rubber and Plastics, Construction and Building Materials, Textiles and Garments, Cleaning and Hygiene, Hospitality and Tourism.
The award is organized annually by EFG to recognize and honor outstanding Ghanaians and non-Ghanaian permanent resident entrepreneurs and to serve as a motivation for budding Ghanaian entrepreneurs in the small, medium and large enterprises in sustaining economic growth and generating employment in Ghana.
The Awards honors entrepreneurs who have achieved strategic and sustained positive impact on the economy, community and society as a whole. This award will be presented to an entrepreneur who has the passion for business, possesses proven business performance, and has the ability to think strategically for the long term sustainability of the business.
Criteria used by the judges to select the Ghana Entrepreneur Award winner are: entrepreneurial spirit, business performance and growth, vision and innovation, ethics and personal integrity, strategic thinking and corporate social responsibility involvement in Ghana’s economic growth.
The Entrepreneur’s Business Support Awards will also recognize and celebrate organizations that deliver quality products and services to assist entrepreneurs in small, medium and large businesses to maximize their potential.
EFG believes providing excellence awards in business support is pivotal in enhancing business excellence in Ghana.
The Entrepreneur’s Business Support Award Categories are: Entrepreneur’s Business Support Banking and Non-Banking Institutions of the Year, Petroleum, Health and Medical Service Organizations of the Year for their exceptional contribution to the development of the private sector in creating economic and social values.
The business support awards category was based on an opinion poll of nominated entrepreneurs for Ghana Entrepreneur Awards as the preferred Business support products and services of the Year Award, 2015.
He said entrepreneurs continue to be the engine of growth in Ghana and it is important that their efforts and contributions are recognized, encouraged and celebrated.
