The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is expected to continue talks with Ghana next month for a possible Fund program for the country.
This is after the Ghanaian delegation in Washington DC concluded first round of negotiations with the Washington-based lender.
According to a statement issued by the head of the IMF mission to Ghana, Joel Toujas-Bernate, discussions were productive.
Joel Toujas-Bernate said in the statement the two factions "made further progress on identifying economic and policy reforms that could form the basis of a possible fund supported program".
Also, according to the statement, Ghana and IMF are working in close collaboration with other multilateral partners such as the World Bank and the African Development Bank.
JOYBUSINESS has gathered that the team is likely to conclude their negotiations in Accra next month.
Joy Business sources close to the Ghana team say Ghana and the IMF are also hoping to tighten loose ends before in their dialogue before final round of negotiations in Accra next month.
The Ghana delegation is led by Kwesi Botchwey and includes Finance Minister Seth Terkper, Minister of Employment and Labor relations, Haruna Iddrisu, and Bank of Ghana Governor, Kofi Wampah.
