The Okyehene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panyin II has asked Ghanaians to protect their heritage by promoting peace in all endeavours before, during and after the December 2012 elections.He said taking up responsibility for the safety of individuals and the nation will ensure continued development process.The Okyehene was speaking at the launch of the ‘Ghana Peace Campaign 2012’.The theme for the peace campaign is ‘Peace is everyone’s business’.In attendance were heads of security services, religious and traditional leaders and some political party representatives.Communications Director of the Ghana Peace Campaign 2012, Kojo Frempong said the initiative will continue until February 2013 to ensure it becomes a continued process.Activities lined up to help promote the campaign include national peace concerts, peace rallies for political parties and encouraging Ghanaians to use local symbols in their attire on a designated day.The initiators will also use the services of serial callers to calm tempers during the use of intemperate language on the airwaves.The Paramount Chief of the Bongo traditional Area, Naba Baba Salifu Alemyarum urged the youth not to allow politicians to use them for violent activities as they would end up hurt.
