In less than 24 hours after Ghana recorded some 393 new cases, the Ghana Health Services says an additional 496 confirmed Covid-19 cases have been recorded.
This brings the total case count for the country to 18,630.
The Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye who made this known at a press conference organised by the Information Ministry said the death toll was still 117, while active cases have increased to 4,467.
“These people are being managed at the treatment sites, isolations, and under home management depending on the situation.”
“Currently, we have 22 cases which are severe, eight are critical, and six on ventilators,” Dr Aboagye told the press.
Greater Accra Region remains the region with the highest number of confirmed cases with 10,296.
This is followed by the Ashanti and Western Regions.
