Ex-Ghana coach Emmanuel Kwesi Afranie wants Avram Grant to field fringe players in Tuesday’s FIFA international friendly against Mali.

In the Black Stars game against Senegal on Saturday, the Israeli fielded regulars, leaving out the likes of Seidu Salifu and Ebenezer Assifuah.

Coach Afranie is not satisfied with that approach and wants Avram to shuffle his cards, with preference for Seidu Salifu, Ebenezer Assifuah and Fatau Dauda.

“It is a problem because why do you spend on them, transportation, allowances and so on only for them to come and sit on the bench,” he told Joy Sports Track on Monday.

“But I hope in the game against Mali he will give the other players the opportunity.”

Defender Jonathan Mensah remains a doubt for the game against Mali after sitting out of the team’s last training session on Monday evening.

21 players took part in Monday’s training session with defender Jonathan Mensah out due to an injury he sustained in Saturday’s match against Senegal.

Kick off time for the friendly match is 6:30 pm at the Stade Sébastien Charléty.
