The Okeyehene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin II, has urged participants at the opening of a Youth Empowerment Summit in Accra to create good opportunities that would improve themselves and the country.
He noted that lack of opportunities for the youth have failed the youth in the 21st Century, but noted that despite the poverty, disease and youth unemployment situations in the country, the youth should still believe in themselves.

The two-day Summit, which is the sixth in the series, is under the theme: “Reactivating the Ghanaian Dream - The Answer to Ghana’s Youth Unemployment”.
Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin II, entreated the participants not to worry about what people think or say about them, adding that “they may not believe in them but they should believe in themselves”.
Vice President, John Dramani Mahama in a 15 minutes telecast message, expressed the hope that at the end of the Summit participants would be able to identify opportunities in the country and make good use of them.
Dr. Caesar Atuire, President of Amicus Onlus and Director of Opera Romana Pelligrinagge, said participants should ensure that they exhibited perseverance and passion in anything they did in life.
He was speaking on the topic: “The Hope for the Youth in the Ghanaian Dream”, where he said time was the greatest wealth anyone could have in the world.
He observed that for individuals to be happy they needed to assist others to be happy in terms of growth and development. “Happiness is collective”, he added.
Amicus Onlus is an international organisation of volunteers that work towards the creation of sustainable human development through capacity building.
Mr. Chris Gardner, the US author of the autobiography “The Pursuit of Happyness,” and an avid motivational and inspirational speaker, is the main speaker for the Summit.Source: GNA
