Reverend Seth Amankwah, Eastern Regional Superintendent of the Assemblies of God-Ghana, has appealed to Ghanaians to unite and not to allow politics to divide the country.
He said the nation had gone through successful democratic experiment since 1992 and the people should not allow the presidential runoff to divide them.
Rev. Amankwah, who made the call in an interview with the GNA in Koforidua on Friday, asked leaders of all political parties and their supporters to avoid inflammatory statements and to desist from activities that could jeopardize the peace of the nation.
Rev. Amankwah urged Christians to pray ceaselessly for the peace, unity and stability of the country.
In a related development, Rev. Appiah Dankwah, Nsukwao District Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, in a New Year message urged Christians to be “salt on the earth” and to contribute to national development.
He called on Ghanaians to accept the outcome of the presidential runoff as the work of God to move the nation forward.
Alhaji Mustapha Boateng, Managing Director of Chocho Industries, in Suhum, appealed to whoever would win the runoff to unite the country and promote industrialisation.
