The Ghana Football Association has projected Ghana female football will reign supreme in Africa and the world in the next two years.
This projection is a result of a strategic plan being executed the FA
Female soccer in Ghana is yet to reach a high pecking order considering performances of the national women’s teams in major international tournaments.
The Black Queens, Princesses and Maidens are yet to go beyond the group stage of any World Cup, with the Queens failing to qualify for the 2012 African Women’s championship in Ethiopia, for the first time since its inception in 1991.
President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantekyi has affirmed in an interview on Joy Sports Link the situation will change in the next two years.
“I think that we are on course. We have done a lot of investment in school girl football and I can tell you that the future of African football is ours. In the next two years, we will be winning the African Championships and we will do that on a sustainable basis.”
