The Ghana Health Service is appealing to patients to exercise restraint as it strives to increase its personnel manning the various hospitals.
The appeal follows reports of assault on some health personnel by patients who say they are frustrated about the response rate of some doctors and nurses.
In a recent incident, some personnel at the LEKMA Hospital in Accra threatened to lay down their tools following an assault on some of their colleagues.
Greater Accra Regional Health Director, Professor Irene Agyepong says a lot is been done to improve service delivery.
She said while the Greater Accra Region has the highest number of doctors compared to the other regions, the numbers were still inadequate and there certainly will be long waiting periods before patients can see doctors.
