GLICO LIFE, a major life insurance company has rewarded its outstanding individual life sales staff at a nationwide sales congress held in Accra.
The three (3) day sales congress dubbed “Inspired to win” was to motivate, celebrate and reward high performing individual life insurance sales staff.
As part of the celebrations, staff drawn from all over Ghana, who met the minimum sales targets for 2018, were treated to a welcome cocktail, a full day training workshop on goal setting, leadership, winning strategies, time management among others.
The Commissioner of Insurance, Justice Ofori, who was the special guest of honour at the awards, commended GLICO LIFE for recognising the immense contribution of its sales staff.
He also praised GLICO Life for training its sales staff not only on product and service knowledge but for adequately equipping them with market knowledge to accurately sell its insurance policies.
Mr. Ofori noted GLICO LIFE’s strategy to rename its Sales & Marketing Executives “Customer Solutions Executives” is commendable as life insurance is about providing solutions for future uncertainties.
He said sales is an essential and highly sought after skill in a growing competitive job market.
Mr. Ofori, therefore, encouraged the sales staff to go even higher and higher in their chosen profession.
The Managing Director of GLICO Life, Mr. E. Forkuo Kyei in his address indicated that the inspiration to be a winner is an intrinsic one and it takes personal leadership and discipline to achieve it.
He congratulated all the delegates for having come this far adding “all salesmen and women present at the ceremony were winners in their own rights”.
Mr. Kyei challenged the sales staffs to go back to their offices and regions implementing all that has been learnt over the three days and that they must continue to give off their best to build public trust in the life insurance industry knowing that they are the inspired generation of winners.

The highlight of the three (3) day event was a dinner and awards night celebrations held at the plush Marriott International Hotel where special recognition and competitive awards were given to deserving delegates who have excelled in 2018.
Also, delegates were provided with a tour of the major attraction sites in Accra.
The overall best performing Customer Solutions Executive, Madam Asana Abdul-Karim, from GLICO LIFE’s Tamale office was mesmerized with joy.
For her prize, she received an award certificate, a plaque, a 40inch Samsung LED television, and an enviable all-expense paid trip to Dubai.
Madam Asana was also a prize winner in two other categories where she received a double-decker fridge and an automatic washing machine.
She could not hide her joy “I am so happy for this award. I thank Allah the most gracious and most merciful. I thank GLICO, my manager and all of you here for your support.”
Madam Asana added “I am happy that my hard work and dedication has been recognized and rewarded. I will do everything possible in the coming year to defend my title as the best performing Customer Solutions Executive. Dubai, here I come”.
Other delegates also received certificates, plaques and household equipment for their hard work and the inspiration to win for Congress 2020 was electrifying throughout the three-day congress.
It is worth noting that GLICO LIFE commenced operations as a specialist life insurance company in 1987 and has been building on strongly for the past three decades.
