Clearly defined business strategies and assigning productive responsibilities have been identified as sure ways to keep businesses running.
The concept of managing with the mind and leading with the heart experts say is the most effective way of practicing effective leadership.
Leadership is not in the singular, think outside the box, Lead with your heart, love people. These are some phrases that dominated the discussion at the 5th MTN business world executive breakfast meeting at the Movenpik Ambassador hotel in Accra.
Speaking on the theme “being an effective leader in business”, experts encouraged business owners to implement strategies that will make an impact on society.
An investment expert, Jude Kofi Bucknor cautioned that good leadership is the process of creating value, congratulating and sharing team credit.
He said an important value a leader should have is the ability to make people work happily with or without supervision.
According to Chief Executive Officer of Progency Ventures, Dr. Kofi Amoah, an unstable national economy is no excuse for the collapse of businesses.
Though all the speakers at this year’s meeting agreed there was the need to have knowledge of a business before starting, they were divided as to whether a leader is born or made.
The Executive Breakfast series is an initiative of Business World magazine in partnership with MTN to provide a platform for executive briefings, networking and business matching for CEOs, senior management professionals, entrepreneurs’ and government officials.
