Partner, Tax and Regulatory at Deloitte Ghana, Gloria Boye-Doku, has launched two new books titled “Mindset for Success” and “The Power of Hope” aimed at inspiring young people to believe that their background should never limit their aspirations.

Speaking at the book launch held at the British Council in Accra, she said the publication was motivated by conversations she regularly has with students through her mentorship engagements with institutions including UPSA, Accra Technical University and other schools.

According to her, many students mistakenly believe successful people achieve their dreams because they were born into privileged circumstances.

"This book is to tell them that no matter your background, no matter where you are coming from, the most important thing is your mindset. And with the right mindset, your background is not a limitation. You can aspire to whatever height and you can achieve success," she said.

She further encouraged readers not to allow a lack of resources or difficult circumstances to prevent them from pursuing their goals.

"Your background has no role to play in your success journey. You just have to know that you are capable. I believe readers will be motivated and not held back by their background or lack of resources. That shouldn't be a limiting factor," she added.

Renowned Ghanaian playwright and author, Uncle Ebo Whyte commended Madam Boye-Doku for documenting her personal experiences and making them available to inspire others.

He described the book as an investment in future generations rather than leaving behind untold stories.

"Gloria has paid her dues. She hasn't left a debt for her grandchildren to come and pay. Indeed, she's making an investment for her grandchildren to come and be blessed by," he said.

The book is expected to motivate students, professionals and aspiring leaders by demonstrating that success is shaped more by determination, resilience and mindset than by one's background.
