The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), has served notice to the Ghana Education Service and Ministry of Education, they would not return to work at the beginning of the new academic year starting September if their grievances are not addressed.
General Secretary Irene Duncan-Adanusa told Joy News since they called off their strike in March this year, the agencies expected to address their grievances have not done so.
The teachers are not happy with the delays in payment of some allowances including promotions, incremental credits as well as transport and transfer grants.
Madam Duncan-Adanusa described as worrying, the loud silence of the authorities to their concerns.
“Fair Wages, Ministry of Finance, Ghana Education Service or whoever is concerned, have to do their part,” she stressed.
She added that no teacher will be seen in the classroom in September when school reopens, if the arrears, which date back to 2010 are not fully paid.
