The Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) has named Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL) as the Petroleum Company of the year, 2013.
This was at CIMG's 25th National Marketing Performance Award held at the Banquet Hall, State House on Saturday, October 18, 2014.
In the citation accompanying the award to GOIL, CIMG stated that: “You set yourself the vision of being a world-class provider of goods and services in the petroleum and other areas of the energy sector and you have so far shown resilience and focus, culminating in being ranked higher above your peers”.
The marketing institution acknowledged the professional manner in which GOIL, the only Ghanaian owned Oil Marketing Company, conducts its business.
According CIMG, GOIL's business approach is based more on customer interaction that ensures customer feedback thereby improving the energy sector.
“Your efforts at educating the motoring public to know exactly which lubricants to use amongst many others has won your customers admiration which has also caught the attention of your evaluators”, the citation read in part.
CIMG also recognised and highly ranked the continuous community support initiatives by GOIL which touch and put smiles on the faces of their beneficiaries.
Speaking to the media after receiving the award, the Managing Director of GOIL, Mr. Patrick Akorli expressed delight of the award and assured the nation of the company’s readiness to lead the Petroleum industry in the country as an indigenous Ghanaian company.
