Global Media Alliance (GMA), a pan African international integrated media and entertainment company, in partnership with the South African High Commission in Ghana has announced a day’s golf tournament to mark the 21st anniversary of South Africa’s Freedom Day.
The tournament, which will take place on 25th April, 2015, at the Celebrity Golf Club in Sakumono, Tema, will feature golfers from Ghana and South Africa – guests will also have the opportunity to sit back, relax and celebrate the rich heritage of the game with South African music.
Aside promoting excellence in golf, the event will also serve as a platform for Ghanaian and South African companies to network.
Freedom Day is an annual celebration of South Africa's first non-racial democratic elections of 1994. Peace, unity, the preservation and the restoration of human dignity hallmark Freedom Day celebrations on the 27th of April of each year.
Commenting on the tournament, Managing Director of GMA, Akwasi Agyeman, says “Freedom Day reminds us of the struggle, long walk and long queues of people waiting patiently to cast their ballot. As a company with its roots from South Africa, we at Global Media Alliance are proud to be organising the annual golf tournament to mark the occasion especially in remembrance of Nelson Mandela.”
