One of Ghana’s finest contemporary Gospel Music Artistes, Akesse Brempong, on Sunday April 6th, 2014 launched his maiden album dubbed “Songs in the Night.” It was a lovely spectacle to behold on the night as the event brought together hundreds of fans of the ‘Crazy Love Dude.’
The feedback from patrons present at the launch indicated that it was “More than a Launch”. What fascinated most patrons was timely start of the event.
The event opened with a ministration from E’m Praise Inc. a contemporary Gospel choral group based in Accra singing some renditions of theirs to the admiration of music lovers gathered at the PIWC Dansoman SSNIT Auditorium which hosted the event.
Spotted in a black waist coat on a white shirt and a black cross over bow tie and a black pair of trousers, Akesse rocked the stage with his opening performance, singing one of his compositions, “With You.” At this point patrons weren’t sure if they were in for a launch or a Live Concert.
Akesse with his electrifying stage presence artistically weaved himself into the hearts of the audience dropping well rehearsed compositions from his 12 songs album list. His energy level was phenomenal and the act, very engaging.
As the event drew to a close, he dropped his Hit Song which has received massive acceptance from his audiences, “CRAZY LOVE.” One would have thought that his live performance of this track would not meet the standard of the recorded version but the gentleman showed class. No wonder chants of “we want more! we want more…” “Akesse! Akesse! Akesse!” greeted him when he finished his last performance.
It was refreshing to see several of the contemporary Gospel Ministers share the stage with him in a massive show of solidarity. Award Winning Artiste Cwesi Oteng of “God dey bless” fame, Eugene Zuta and Braa Kwaku were on stage to lend support to their brother and colleague. Arguably it was an exciting spectacle to behold on the night. In the audience were legends like Pastor Josh Laryea and a whole lot more.
The Album “Songs in the Night” has 12 soul inspiring tracks which can lift the burden of every heart going through a challenge. Songs such as Closer, Love So Real and Crazy Love talks about the uncommon love showered on the song writer by his Maker.
It is expected that the songs will make impact and transcend the borders of Ghana.
