The Deputy Chief of Staff, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, has reiterated the administration’s commitment to ensuring that housing remains both affordable and accessible to citizens across Ghana.
Speaking on Thursday, March 5, at the opening of the National Home Ownership Fair 2026 in Accra, she emphasised that housing extends beyond mere shelter, describing it as a productive asset that contributes to health, education, job creation, and overall economic growth.
The fair is being held under the theme “Building Ghana, One Home at a Time.”
Her remarks come amid a persistent housing deficit in Ghana. As of 2025, the country faces a shortfall of over 1.8 million homes, driven by rapid urbanisation, population growth, and limited access to housing finance.
To tackle this challenge, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo highlighted the Government’s determination to complete key housing projects nationwide.
These include the Saglemi Affordable Housing Project, the Ho Oxygen City development, and the District Housing Programme, all aimed at providing affordable homes for civil servants, professionals, and ordinary workers.
She added that these initiatives reflect the Government’s broader goal of supporting sustainable urban development while improving the living standards of Ghanaians.
“By investing in housing, we are not only providing homes but also strengthening communities and promoting economic growth,” she stated.
