An Obuasi-based NGO, Mama Love Foundation, has appealed to government to resource graduate artisans with start-up kits after completion of their apprenticeship training.
The president of the organisation, Rev Dr Love Konadu, is worried most graduate artisans find it difficult to establish a business after learning a trade.
She was speaking after a feast with artisans in Obuasi to mark her birthday.
"A lot of graduate artisans find it difficult to properly set themselves up after learning a skill or trade. As a result, most of them are left with no option than looking out for opportunities elsewhere rendering their training useless," she observed.
She urged "government to increase its budgetary allocations to the Ghana Enterprises Agency for the procurement of start-up kits to enable them to reach out to more beneficiaries at the various MMDAS."

Yaw Boafo, an artisan who graced the occasion, lauded the President of Mama Love Foundation for her benevolence and human-centered initiatives.
"Mama Love always motivates us from her goodwill and we're really grateful that she always remembers to give back to the Obuasi community through her NGO."
Mama Love Foundation also donated some items to support artisans in the municipality.
