Global social enterprise IGNITE has officially launched its operations in Ghana, marking its entry into the Sub-Saharan African market and announcing a strategic partnership aimed at expanding opportunities for young people and micro-entrepreneurs.
At the launch in Ghana on Friday, August 7, 2026, the company announced the appointment of media entrepreneur Nathan Kwabena Anokye Adisi, popularly known as Bola Ray, to its Global Advisory Board.
The appointment is expected to support IGNITE’s expansion across Sub-Saharan Africa, with Ghana identified as one of the company's key frontier markets.
Bola Ray, who has more than two decades of experience in broadcasting, entertainment, brand development and business, is expected to contribute his networks and strategic experience to the company's growth across the continent.
He is the Chief Executive Officer of EIB Network Group and Empire Entertainment and has played a significant role in Ghana's media and entertainment industry.
Speaking at the launch, Bola Ray said Africa's growing population of young people and micro-entrepreneurs presented significant opportunities for innovation, business and technology.
He said many young entrepreneurs needed access to practical tools, reliable partnerships and global platforms to turn their skills and ideas into sustainable businesses.
“What many still need are the practical tools, trusted partners, and global platforms to turn their talent into sustainable opportunity,” he said.
According to Bola Ray, IGNITE's social e-commerce model, combined with its artificial intelligence-powered learning platform, Brainify AI, could help young people build brands, generate income and develop practical skills.
He said he was honoured to join the Global Advisory Board and pledged to support efforts to extend such opportunities to young people and micro-entrepreneurs across Africa.
IGNITE combines e-commerce with digital learning
IGNITE's Ghana operations will combine social e-commerce, digital learning and entrepreneurship opportunities.
A key component of the offering is Brainify AI, an AI-powered learning and skills platform designed to help users develop practical digital, business and financial skills at their own pace.
The company says the platform is intended to make learning and skills development more accessible while preparing users to take advantage of opportunities in an increasingly digital economy.
Founding Partner at IGNITE Social Enterprise, Adly Hassan, said the company's decision to enter Sub-Saharan Africa was driven by the region's youthful population and strong entrepreneurial culture.
He said IGNITE wanted to establish a responsible business model that placed people at the centre while creating value for consumers, partners and institutions.
“We want to operate as a responsible, people-first social ecommerce company that adds real value to consumers, partners, and institutions,” he said.
Mr Hassan also emphasised the company's commitment to compliance, consumer protection and constructive engagement with regulators and public institutions as it expands in Ghana and across the region.
Focus on micro-entrepreneurs
IGNITE says its entry into Ghana reflects its belief that economic empowerment should be more accessible, digital and inclusive.
Through a combination of product access, education and an affiliate opportunity, the company says it hopes to enable more people to participate in the formal and digital economy regardless of their age, educational background or socio-economic circumstances.
Founded in 2026 and headquartered in Hong Kong, IGNITE Social Enterprise describes itself as a global social enterprise focused on supporting micro-entrepreneurs through social e-commerce.
Operating under the mission “Own Your Future,” the company provides digital tools, training, and wellness and lifestyle products aimed at supporting financial independence, personal growth and professional development.
