The President of Regent University College of Science and Technology, Reverend Professor Emmanuel Larbi has called on government to develop a comprehensive approach towards the funding of tertiary education in the country.
He suggested the widening of existing scholarship schemes to allow the admission of many poor and deprived people to access tertiary education.
The Rev. Prof. Larbi said this at the 5th graduation of the Regent University College of Science and Technology in Accra.
Professor Larbi said many students are forced to drop out of University due to what he called financial stress.
He announced the introduction of Bachelor of Science program in Statistics, Masters of Philosophy in Statistics and Doctorate in Business Administration at the start of the next academic year.
400 students graduated with various degrees.
Professor Francis Owusu-Afram who represented the Vice Chancellor of the KNUST commended the College for complementing the country’s human resource needs.
The overall best student award was presented to Mary Abena Serwaa Sackey.
