Almost six months after pledging to support a couple in Takoradi for giving birth to quintuplet in a hospital in Tema, government is yet to redeem that promise.
The couple Alex Obeng Sakyi and Esther Obeng Sakyi gave birth to 3 girls and two boys at the Provita Hospital.
Deputy Minister of Employment and Social Welfare Antwi Boasiako Sekyere pledged government support to the couple and subsequently directed the Department of Social Welfare to visit the family and submit a report for the necessary assistance.
But the family is yet to receive anything after officials from the Social Welfare Department paid a visit to the family.
The quintuplets were formally named today at a ceremony in Takoradi in the Western Region.
