Over a hundred Ghanaians who are part of the government-sponsored supporters to Brazil to cheer the Black Stars are said to be stranded at the Kotoka International Airport.
The supporters were expected to leave the shores of Ghana to Brazil in an 8:00 pm flight Sunday, but for unexplained reasons the flight never came.
The angry supporters who spent the night in the open at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) said they had to battle with mosquitoes throughout the night.
On Monday morning, the supporters told Joy Sports' Benedict Owusu they have been given a raw deal.
They do not understand why they, the "real supporters" would be left stranded at KIA when Black Stars ambassadors made up of musicians and actors have been flown to Brazil.
Some of the aggrieved supporters said some of the those ambassadors are rich enough to sponsor their own trip to Brazil and did not understand why they should rather receive preferential treatment from government while the poor supporters are left stranded.
Leader of the Millenium Supporters Union said authorities are working feverishly to emplane the stranded supporters.
According to him, three flights have already left to Brazil, saying the stranded supporters will soon join their colleagues in Brazil
Over 500 supporters were expected to be flown to Brazil to support the Black Stars in their quest to make Ghana and Africa proud at the World Cup.
