Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has slammed the Ghana Premier League’s Wednesday-Sunday fixture routine, blaming it for the growing fatigue in his squad.
The Porcupines, who featured in the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round, honour their outstanding matches on Wednesdays before returning to action on Sundays.
Kotoko have now recorded back-to-back draws, the latest coming in the stalemate against Aduana FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Zito revealed he could not organise training sessions ahead of the game due to tired legs in the squad.
"I saw tiredness within the boys and this is the league, we have to play," Zito said at the post-match interview.
"I even said the FA should look into it in future because Dreams FC passed through this and nearly went to relegation, same for Samartex.
"Wednesday-Sunday [fixtures], we are not Europeans. They have energy, what they eat and the tablet they take, not to dope them but to give them what the body here cannot give you.
"Seriously, I don't think it's fair."
Kotoko, now sixth with 16 points, face Young Apostles in their outstanding fixture on November 19.
