Acting Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority, Anthony Kwasi Sarpong, has donated to the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, also known as Mahama Cares.
The gesture forms part of the resolve to contribute to supporting the country’s healthcare needs as well as resourcing the fund to take care of other critical initiatives.
Speaking after the donation on February 19, he emphasised the importance of showing love in February and called on other chief executives of public institutions to follow suit.
He threw a personal challenge to the Chief Executive of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, Simon Madjie, to support the initiative to improve healthcare in the country.

“We’re in the month of love and being asked to show kindness, and as you know, kindness is like a garden of flowers where love endures forever. So in this month of love, I’m here to show my love, and I call on every Ghanaian to come here to show their love. You may not have to be here physically, but you can use the digital channels or mobile money across all networks to show your love," he said.
“I would also like to call on my big brother, Simon Madjie, the CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, to come to Mahama Cares and show love.”
The fund was established in 2025 as part of the government’s health policy interventions aimed at improving healthcare access and providing support to vulnerable groups.
