Right Reverend Dr. Livingstone Komla Buma, Moderator of the Evangelical Presbyterian (EP) Church, Ghana has called on the citizenry, especially leaders of the various political parties to conscientiously guard against the division of the country. "Let us think of the safety and peace of Ghana first before our utterances and actions and if it becomes necessary for us to disagree, let us agree to disagree honorably and in peace", he cautioned. Rt. Rev. Dr. Buama made the call at the opening of the 14th Annual National Delegates Conference of the Presbyters Union of the Church at Akoefe-Avenui on Saturday. About 100 delegates from all the nine Presbyteries of the Church were attending the three-day conference, which was under the theme ”called to serve”. Rt. Rev. Dr. Buama who is also chairman of the Nkonya/Alavanyo Peace Mediation Committee, said without peace there would be no meaningful development in the country and called on the Church to ensure peace and harmony among the citizenry. He said "many people in leadership position today are missing the point because they are putting the emphasis at the wrong place" and appealed to church leaders and other authorities to refine their ways of dong things towards the development of the country. Rt. Rev. Dr. Buama said the EP Church had a vision and a mission and no one should be allowed to "manufacture and impose an individual vision on the church". He said if the church was able to implement all its good policies they would impact positively on its growth. Mr. Walter Blege, Interim President of the EP University College, appealed to members of the church to support the educational institution with GH¢15,000 to enable it to establish an Internet café. He commended the Presbyters Union for donating GH¢5,000 to the University. Mr Blege said the university would soon open a campus at Aflao to assist those from neighbouring French speaking countries to be proficient in the English language. Mr. Simon N.K.
