Health Minister Sherry Ayitey has stated Suweiba Abdul Mumin could be compensated if officials at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) are unable to find her baby declared dead by doctors.
The doctor and the head of midwifery on duty that night will also know their fate following a submission of investigative report on their conduct by their respective professional Councils.
The Ministry of Health gave a 14-day ultimatum to management of KATH to produce five babies declared dead at the facility. The ultimatum expired last week.
The Ministry of Health has repeated its warning of "serious consequences" when it finally announce actions on the Komfo Anokye missing baby saga.
The announcement is expected today, Tuesday. The Ministry had to postpone the announcement orginally scheduled for Friday 21st March.
The Ministry issued an order for management of the facility to account for five babies declared dead on February 5 this year.
But the mother's relentless request to see the baby, brought KATH to a standstill.
She was backed by her family and neighbors in her Zongo community in Kumasi.
The nation has been gripped by the saga running into eight weeks.
