After serving their three-year ban from the inter-club competitions of the Confederation of African Football, Kpando Heart of Lions are now set to play alongside the elite clubs of Africa in the CAF Champions League.
Heart of Lions were banned by the Confederation of Africa Football after withdrawing from the Confederation Cup in 2003.
The Kpando-based team cited financial problems as the reason for pulling out of Africa.
After placing second in the 2007/2008 league season, the technical director of the team, Coach Francis Oti Akenteng has assured their participation in the Champions League this time around.
In an interview with Asempa Sports, Oti Akenteng said that preparations were already underway to ensure a successful campaign in Africa.
