Hearts of Oak players went crazy after Friday afternoon’s training session at the ATTC Park as they marked the birthday celebration of head coach David Duncan in a rather hilarious fashion.
With the coach well-soaked from hair to toe, the players led by Winful Cobbinah and Ivorian Nuru Sulley as Kweku Andoh and the rest of the team joined their assistant trainer Ben Adjei to turn the coach, who turned 50 today, into a swing and play around the training field to sum up the excitement.
Duncan since taking charge of the Phobians last season has warmed himself into the hearts of his players forming strong personal ties with each of them.
His birthday on the eve of his side’s trip to Obuasi to face AshGold in a Ghana Premier League game on Sunday.
Players including Gilbert Fiamenyo and Winful Cobbinah who have undergone massive improvements in their careers under Duncan’s guise have all promised victory to mark the anniversary of the coach.
But they face a side that is yet to taste defeat since the start of the season and beat them back-to-back last season.
Hearts consistency could also be crucial in the game – since their defeat to Kotoko in Accra on Matchday 2, they have dropped just two points out of a possible 18.
Duncan will also be facing his former side in the game.
