A staff of the Yendi Government Hospital is in police custody for allegedly kidnapping a 10-year-old girl.
The 56-year-old clerk is reported to have kidnapped the girl intending to use her for rituals.
He later abandoned her at a town near Yendi where she was rescued by residents who heard her cry.
Chief Inspector Ebenezer Tetteh, the Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer confirmed the case to Joy News.
Chief Insp. Tetteh said the clerk was charged with kidnapping after preliminary investigations established a case against the suspect.
