Tiger Eye PI has refuted allegations made by Bishop Daniel Obinim, the founder of the International God's Way Church, in a video circulating on social media and related media reports.
The video claims that investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas contacted Obinim to persuade him to join a lawsuit against politician Mr Kennedy Agyapong.
In a statement issued by Tiger Eye PI on March 21, the organisation categorically denied the allegations, describing them as "entirely false and, at best, a fabrication."
The statement emphasised that Anas, who is also a lawyer with years of professional experience, is fully aware of the legal remedies available to him and does not require or seek support from Bishop Obinim to pursue legal actions.
"Anas Aremeyaw Anas has no knowledge of Mr Obinim's contact details or residential address, making any alleged interaction between them not only implausible but impossible," the statement read.
The refutation comes after the viral video sparked public attention, with many questioning the validity of the claims.
Tiger Eye PI urged the general public to disregard the allegations and maintain their focus on the journalist's ongoing pursuit of justice and truth.
Tiger Eye PI also took the opportunity to express gratitude to the public for their unwavering support, both within Ghana and internationally, particularly following Anas's recent legal victory.
The organisation says it remains steadfast in its commitment to transparency and accountability and continues to thank Ghanaians for their continued solidarity.
Earlier this week, the Superior Court of New Jersey awarded the investigative journalist $18 million in damages in a defamation lawsuit against the former Member of Parliament and Frederick Asamoah, a social media commentator.
The judgment comes after a lengthy legal battle stemming from alleged defamatory statements made by the defendants during a 2021 interview broadcast on social media.
