Journalist with Citi FM, Umaru Sanda Amadu has revealed why he took footage of a search undertaken by some police personnel.
Speaking to JoyNews' Kojo Yankson Monday, Umaru Sanda Amadu said, "I had to be filming everything with the mindset that they would not drop anything in my car."
In a viral video sighted by JoyNews', some security personnel can be seen searching the vehicle of the newsman.
According to him, he found the search "bizarre" as the police behaved as if they were specifically looking for something.
"They did the most thorough search I have ever been subjected to. My glove compartment was opened. Even the sun-shield in the car was opened and my tissue box was searched.
"He took the tissue box and shook it as if there was a parcel of cocaine going to fall out or something. I found that bizarre but that is the work of the police. It even got more bizarre as it reached the point they started lifting carpets."
Mr Sanda said he found it absurd when he was asked to open the car bonnet.
"This is an engine that has been running, I wonder how cocaine can survive in that heat. He then said I should remove my shoe and also the linen in the shoe."

According to Umaru Sanda, the actions of the police failed to meet standard search protocols.
"My license was almost the last thing he asked and checked. He looked at it and said my license was not expired.
"They at no point asked what my name was and I also didn't provide my name. They didn't introduce themselves to me and I also didn't ask," he stated.
He indicated that the vehicle used by the security personnel had the inscription Special Weapons And Tactics Unit (SWAT).
"The police that checked me was not at point check but were driving. They were in motion when they flagged me and I stopped," he added.
Also, he said officers in a police visibility car upon seeing what transpired failed to intervene.
