A security surveillance expert says government must adopt the use of digital monitoring stations in government institutions and flash points of the country to deal with crime, corruption and arson situations.
Emmanuel Sekyere Asiedu, who heads Virtual Security Africa says digital monitoring technology is a solution to unsolved murders, robberies, bribery and atrocities on the country’s highways and ports.
"The future of securing a country is through technology", the security surveillance expert told Luv News at a ceremony to inaugurate a digital security showroom for Virtual Securities Africa in Kumasi.
According to him, the country is not secured in anyway, as there are no security cameras at its major installations for crime detection.
Mr. Asiedu noted that the benefits and cost analysis of digital security monitoring solutions should be weighed against the huge cost of patrolling the highways and maintaining daily security across the country.
He therefore recommended that government installs central monitoring stations in most government institutions including the ministries, to prevent security personnel, officials of the Narcotic Control Board (NACOB) and public sector workers from corrupt activities in their line of duty.
