Afrika Nyornu, a transdisciplinary non-profit organization dedicated to healthcare, sustainable agriculture, and education in Ghana, has received support for this year’s Menstrual Hygiene Day (MHD) celebration.
The theme for MHD 2024, "Together for a Period-Friendly World," emphasizes the importance of collective action in promoting menstrual health and hygiene. This year's event is set to be a remarkable success, thanks to the generosity and commitment of our sponsors.
One of the notable contributions comes from Indus Life Sciences Private Limited, a leading pharmaceutical company.
During a brief ceremony, Maloe Nartey, the Executive Director of Afrika Nyornu, received significant donations from Indus Life Sciences, which included 15,000 packs of Zincovit (Zinc plus Multivitamins), 250 packs of Zincofer, and 50 packs of Klenz V - Feminine wash.

These items were presented by Mr. Mani, the Managing Director of Indus Life Sciences Limited, along with the Co-founder and Director Mr V. Ravichandran, Director Mr.Srinivasan and Country Manager Mr Prem Kumar .
Mr Ravi, was impressed with the projects of Afrika Nyornu and pledged their continuous support for the good course.
Mr. Mani stated that the donation is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility efforts. "This is about giving something back to society. The products are extremely good for children and adults as well. They were the most preferred products during the Covid time," he said.
The contributions from Indus Life Sciences will enable Afrika Nyornu to expand its reach and impact in several critical areas.
Maloe Nartey emphasized the importance of replenishing nutrients after menstrual cycles to enhance the girls' alertness and concentration levels in school. She stated that her organization, with the help of Indus Life Sciences will also distribute vitamins to the girls across the country.

"We also realize that when you menstruate, you lose a lot of nutrients alongside the blood. We are taking Zincovit, which has a lot of vitamins and nutrients for the girl child. Indus Life Science Private Limited is also giving us Zincofer, which is made up of Zinc and Iron to replenish what is lost during menstruation. Additionally, they are providing vaginal hygiene products to help with vaginal issues and other reproductive health-related concerns."
Afrika Nyornu will focus on distribution of menstrual material, Menstrual Hygiene Management Education, Sewing of reusable sanitary pads and community engagements this year .
