Ministry of Information would soon launch a programme on national unity to educate the citizenry on the need to maintain peace and refrain from acts that would generate ethnic conflicts.
She said the programme was necessary because of recent sentiments being expressed by some ethnic groups to threaten the existing peace in the country.
Mrs Sabah Zita Okaikoi, Minister of Information who announced this on Thursday during a press soiree to interact with the media in Accra, said a section of the media was being used by such groups to propagate their agenda and polarise the nation.
She noted that such acts did not augur well for Government's Better Ghana agenda adding "The elections are over and all hands must be on deck to develop the country".
Mrs Okaikoi called on the media to collaborate with the ministry to ensure effective and efficient dissemination of information on government policies and programmes.
She assured the media that her office was open for suggestions and constructive criticisms.
