The Deputy Minister for the Interior, Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi, has launched a four-day programme designed to engage young people in selected conflict-prone communities on strategies for preventing violence.
The initiative, dubbed “Dialoguing with the Youth in Selected Hotspots on Conflict Prevention,” targets young people in Nima and other vulnerable areas, creating a platform for open discussions on peacebuilding and community stability.
The programme is a joint effort between the National Peace Council and the Dallaire Institute for Children, Peace and Security, with support from the Ministry of the Interior.

Organisers say the initiative seeks to provide safe spaces for dialogue, learning and practical engagement.
Participants will be equipped with tools to identify early warning signs of conflict, resist manipulation and strengthen their resilience against factors that fuel violence.
Speaking at the launch in Accra, Mr Terlabi underscored the critical role young people play in safeguarding national peace.
“You are not here by accident. You are here because you have been chosen not for your status, but for your potential,” he told participants.
The programme forms part of broader national efforts to deepen youth participation in peacebuilding and reinforce Ghana’s longstanding reputation for stability in the sub-region.
