The Israeli Ambassador to Ghana, Madam Shlomit Sufa on Tuesday stormed Adom FM, a leading Akan radio station in Accra to give more insight into the Israeli-Hamas war currently ongoing in Gaza to enable Ghanaians understand the situation.
She said people are criticizing her country for civilian casualties emanating from its close quarters combat in Gaza, making it clear that the Palestinian people are not the target, adding that their key objective is to flash out Hamas to pave way for a new governance reform in Palestine that will provide solid foundation for sustainable peace for both Israelis and Palestinians.
Madam Sufa admitted the fact that war is not a good thing due to its negative impact on the masses.
She explained that the Israeli Defense Force’s ground operations in Gaza which has resulted in civilian casualties should be blamed on Hamas because they are using civilians as human shield to fight the Israeli soldiers.
When host the programme, Abena Ahwenee Opokua asked why the sophisticated Israeli Defense Forces never saw the attack coming, Madam Shlomit Sufa said they have no answer to those questions now but the most important thing is to completely dismantle Hamas to pave way for the peace process.
Gaza's Hamas-run health ministry says more than 14,000 people - including more than 5,000 children - have been killed in Israel's campaign. Israel began attacking Hamas-run Gaza after Hamas fighters crossed the border on 7 October, killing over 1,400 people and taking more than 200 others hostage.
