Former Senior Minister, J.H. Mensah is asking the government of Ghana to support Southern Sudan attain independence.
Sudan which is the biggest country in Africa has suffered a lot of armed conflicts in the past between the Arab-dominated north and black-dominated south.
After twenty two years of war, a peace deal was brokered in 2005 which gave partial autonomy to Southern Sudan.
Black Southern Sudanese form over 70 percent of that country’s population but the country is ruled by the Arab minority.
But Mr Mensah says Ghana must formulate a foreign policy that favours Southern Sudan.
A leading member of a political movement in Southern Sudan, the Sudan Peoples Liberation Movement, Dr. Adwok Nyaba says they will fight to free themselves from Arab domination.
