Olajide Abubakar Rasak, known professionally as Jidex or Jide Klothing, has become one of Nigeria’s most visible digital creators and a rising voice in youth culture, entrepreneurship and online activism.
Born on June 25, 2000, in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, he has parlayed a mix of social content, fashion business and music into a fast-growing public profile.
From Ijebu classrooms to creative studies
Jidex grew up in Ijebu and attended Leaders’ Foundation Primary School before moving to Leaders’ College for his secondary education.
After finishing school in 2017, he continued his studies in the arts and, in 2023, completed a course in Creative Arts at Tai Solarin University of Education, Iperu.
His formal training in the arts has informed his work across content, fashion and music.
A digital voice that reaches beyond entertainment
Jidex first gained attention on TikTok and Instagram for short, personality-driven clips that mix humour, fashion and social observation.
By 2025 he was ranked among the top 30 Nigerian creators on TikTok and became one of the fastest Nigerians to surpass one million followers on the platform.
Recurring catchphrases such as "Ehn, baby” and “Kolo far, baby” have become part of his online signature.
As his audience grew, his content broadened to include commentary on public life, online ethics and youth issues.
He is frequently cited in conversations about the role creators play in shaping public discourse and has used his platform to amplify stories ranging from local tragedies to allegations involving public figures.
Building businesses off-screen
Jidex has translated online visibility into offline enterprises. His fashion label, Jidex Klothing, launched in 2017 in Ijebu, and it provides tailoring services, student uniforms, and bespoke garments.
He also runs Jidex Foods Nigeria Limited, a food and snack business serving local markets.
Those ventures underline a common strategy among Nigerian creators: diversify influence into tangible products and services to build sustainable revenue streams beyond sponsorships.
Music, activism and public moments
Expanding into music, Jidex has released several singles that reflect contemporary Nigerian sounds and his personal experiences.
Releases include Broda Zazou on February 10, 2025, 44 Flows featuring JoBlaq on June 5, 2025, and Blessings on August 31, 2025.
Publicly, Jidex has positioned himself as a voice for ordinary Nigerians on issues from misinformation to accountability.
He was among the first to share news of the death of comedian Sanku in 2025, and he used live streams to report the alleged kidnapping of promoter Peller.
He has also drawn attention to an incident involving artist Lil Kesh. At the same time, Jidex has faced criticism, notably over a reportedly undelivered paid advertisement valued at ₦220,000, a controversy that sparked debate about influencer responsibility.

Recognition and industry support
Jidex’s rise has not gone unnoticed. He received recognition from the African Creators Summit as one of several Nigerian creators supporting the creator economy and mentoring emerging talent.
His fashion brand won “Fastest Growing Fashion House” at the Cool Wealth Awards 2024. In 2026 he picked up an Emperor Award for Best Content Creator.
A public profile in transition
Jidex represents a new generation of Nigerian creators who move fluidly between entertainment, commerce and civic commentary.
His career so far shows how a regional start can lead to national influence when creative energy is paired with business sense and a willingness to engage on public matters.
As he continues to expand his music output and grow his brands, Jidex remains a figure to watch for anyone tracking how social media, entrepreneurship and activism intersect in West Africa’s rapidly changing cultural landscape.
