Students in the Ketu North constituency of the Volta Region have been advised to be committed to their studies and make good use of the opportunity given them.
An economist, Dr John Gatsi , gave the advice to students at an awards ceremony to reward hard working students in the district.
The awards ceremony is also organized to motivate other students in the district.
According to Dr Gatsi, education is the key to a successful future and students must endeavor to be committed to their studies.
Dr John Gatsi, a lecturer and the Founder of the John Gatsi Foundation, also admonished parents to take the education of their children seriously, noting that was the only legacy they can bequeath to their children.
This year’s award, the sixth of such events, is aimed at motivating basic school students in the Ketu North area to pursue academic excellence and also foster healthy competition among schools, pupils and teachers
Vihem Mawunyo International School was adjudged the best school in the area with, two people from the school located at Dzodze – Godwin Danyo and Tuglo Ebenezah – winning cash prizes, certificates and books.
Mawuli School Complex and Mac Tetteh International School also located in Dzodze, and King of Glory International School at Penyi also received prizes.
Administrator of Vihem Mawunyo International School, Evans Mawunyo Tsikata, commended Gatsi Foundation for the initiative and implored his colleague school administrators to take advantage given to them and do more to improve education in the constituency.
