This took place at the 5th GNCCI Business Awards held at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
The award recognises his exceptional contribution to business journalism, economic education, and his enduring commitment to promoting informed national dialogue.
"In a media landscape that often thrives on sensationalism, George Wiafe stands out as a voice of credibility, clarity, and analytical depth", a part of the citation read.

"A distinguished business journalist, economic analyst, and broadcaster, he has, over the years, become one of Ghana’s most trusted interpreters of the economy, skillfully demystifying complex financial matters for both policymakers and the ordinary citizen."
As the respected host of several business-focused programmes on JoyNews and Joy FM, under the Multimedia Group, Mr Wiafe has built a 10-year career defined by integrity, intellectual precision, and professional excellence.
His work demonstrates a rare mastery of Ghana’s macroeconomic landscape from fiscal policy and inflation management to revenue mobilisation and private sector growth.

Through incisive interviews with industry leaders, policymakers, and international experts, Wiafe has elevated the standard of business journalism in Ghana, ensuring that discussions around the economy remain factual, balanced, and impactful.
Beyond his on-air presence, George Wiafe epitomises the ideal journalist who informs, educates, and empowers.

His data-driven analysis, steadfast commitment to truth, and calm, authoritative presentation style have earned him deep respect from peers and audiences alike.
