After decades of baby deliveries on the floor, Mangotideke, a village in the Volta Region now has a dignified birthing centre.
This follows a Joy News hotline documentary highlighting how the chief of the village, Togbui Gbo Moses who is also a traditional birth attendant, volunteered to be trained as a midwife to deliver the women in his village.

The documentary placed emphasis not only on the plight of pregnant women but also the lack of some basic amenities in the community.
;
Joy News Gifty Andoh Appiah first told the story in 2013, with consistent follow-ups, leading to the construction of the centre.

With financial support from a WhatsApp group called Paddies, a lecturer at the Ho technical university Dr Devine Novieto had assured residents in April that he is confident, the centre will soon be completed and handed over to the community.
Dr Novieto started the construction of the hospital and with the help of his friends and the assembly, who provided some of the building materials the vision of having a birth centre in Mangotideke was brought to life.
Gifty Andoh Appiah filed a report which said that pregnant women there are now happy and are competing to be first to deliver at the centre.
In her most recent follow-ups on September 21, Gifty Andoh Appiah reported that the birth centre is ready for use. She revealed that the Assembly is working on posting a nurse to the centre.
A signpost has been put up to direct all pregnant women to the delivery centre.
