In a concerted effort to promote community health and well-being, the KGL Foundation spearheaded a crucial health screening and blood donation exercise for the residents of Keta in the Volta Region.
The event, held on Saturday at the Keta Municipal Assembly grounds, aimed to provide essential medical check-ups and encourage life-saving blood donations.
The initiative was warmly received by the local community, with a significant turnout of residents eager to take charge of their health and contribute to the welfare of others through blood donation.
Speaking on the importance of the programme, the Programmes Manager, Mr Nii Annorbah-Sarpei who spoke on behalf of the CEO, Mr Elliot Daddey, emphasised the critical role of preventive healthcare in ensuring a thriving community.
He highlighted that early detection of health conditions can significantly improve outcomes and lead to healthier, more fulfilling lives for individuals and families.
"Today, we are not just conducting screenings; we are empowering our community with knowledge about their health," Mr Annorbah-Sapei expressed passionately. "By identifying health issues early, we can prevent them from becoming more serious problems. This event is a testament to our commitment to the well-being of Keta residents."
The health screening services offered covered a wide range of vital health indicators, including blood pressure checks, blood sugar tests, BMI measurements, and malaria screenings. Medical professionals and volunteers were on hand to provide personalized advice and guidance based on the results, ensuring that attendees left with a better understanding of their health status.

Additionally, the blood donation segment of the event drew considerable attention from residents eager to make a meaningful contribution to the local healthcare system. Donors were praised for their altruism and willingness to support those in need of blood transfusions, particularly in emergencies and medical procedures.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Keta, Hon. Emmanuel Gemegah, commended the KGL Foundation for its impactful community initiatives. He underscored the significance of such programmes in complementing the government's efforts to improve healthcare accessibility and outcomes at the grassroots level.
"We are immensely grateful to the KGL Foundation for their dedication to the health of our people," Hon. Emmanuel Gemegah remarked. "This health screening and blood donation are not only beneficial for individuals but also contributes to the overall health system resilience of our municipality."
The Public Relations Officer, Edwin Osmond-Lamptety, said the KGL Foundation as part of its corporate responsibility decided to make sure that residents are well taken care of in terms of health needs and other important things.
He noted that the KGL Foundation is an organisation that seeks to get to the grassroots of the community to create collaborations and impact people positively.
The event concluded on a high note, with hundreds of participants expressing gratitude for the opportunity to prioritize their health and contribute to a worthy cause. As the KGL Foundation continues its mission to empower communities through health and education initiatives, the impact of this event is expected to resonate long after its conclusion.
Through collaborative efforts between organizations like the KGL Foundation, local government authorities, and community members, the path to a healthier, more prosperous future for Keta remains brightly illuminated.
