The Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive, Madam Patricia Appiagyei, has organized a party for 500 children of the Mama Pay Day Care Centre and other children at Beposo in the Sekyere West District.
The party was to show appreciation to the chiefs and people for naming the centre after her and to encourage the children and their teachers to work hard.
The children were entertained to music, food and soft drinks.
Madam Appiagyei appealed to parents to be interested in their children's education, provide them with their needs and give parental care and love to them.
She urged them to give equal attention to girls' education, saying that the time when girls were discriminated against because of cultural practices and beliefs no longer existed.
Miss Regina Sarpong, a teacher of the school thanked Madam Appiagyei for her support to the school.
She appealed to her to assist the school to complete the construction of its permanent block of two classrooms.
