Renowned Ghanaian gospel musician and philanthropist, Alex Acheampong, has officially unveiled his latest masterwork and soul-stirring single titled “Nyame Baako Pɛ (Only One God),” featuring the powerhouse vocalist, Obaapa Christie.
Set to hit all major digital streaming platforms on Friday, October 9, the much-awaited collaboration is already generating immense momentum across the global music landscape.
Hailed as an undeniable anthem of unwavering faith, communal unity, and divine supremacy, the track bridges traditional Ghanaian gospel rhythms with a polished, high-energy, danceable beat.
Steadfast Hope
Rooted in the Akan dialect, “Nyame Baako Pɛ” translates to "Only One God”.
The single arrives as a timeless spiritual compass, urging believers across diverse denominations and cultural lines to anchor their trust in the Almighty despite life's daunting trials.
Reflecting on the vision behind the track, Alex Acheampong shared that: “I know this song will uplift those facing steep hurdles in their Christian journey—especially those tempted to yield to family pressures or turn to lesser deities out of sheer desperation. Always remember: there is only ONE GOD, and He remains sovereign on the throne”.
On collaborating with the celebrated songstress Obaapa Christie, Mr. Acheampong highlights how the gospel icon’s vocal prowess contributes to the soul-soothing sound.
“Having my sister Obaapa Christie on this project is a tremendous blessing. Her distinct vocal command and anointed presence infuse the song with a level of grace, power, and authenticity that only she can deliver.”
The track was produced by Ghana’s premier musical maestro, Dan Bassey, whose signature clean, inventive, and international-grade production elevates the single into a cross-cultural masterpiece designed for both local congregations and global audiences alike.
Beyond his musical craft, Mr. Acheampong continues to leave an indelible mark through the Alex Acheampong Foundation, which actively equips neonatal centers and health facilities across Ghana with essential life-saving incubators and medical supplies.
Beginning October 9, 2026, “Nyame Baako Pɛ” will be available globally on all streaming platforms.
Fans and worshippers can also look forward to Acheampong's annual flagship event, the Emmanuel Praise Concert, scheduled for Sunday, December 27, 2026, in Kumasi.
